EVERY 6 DAYS a woman in Canada is killed by her intimate partner.

YOU can help END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN in our community today by choosing to support Kingston Interval House (KIH).

Since 1975, KIH has been the ONLY women’s shelter serving the Kingston and surrounding area.

KIH provides emergency shelter, rent-geared to income housing, community outreach services, public education, and transitional programs to safely move women, and their children and youth, back into the community.

Your gift will go directly towards empowering women, children, and youth escaping abusive situations, so that they can move towards a future FREE of violence and oppression.

THANK YOU for thinking of KIH and being a part of the bridge to a community where violence against women no longer exists.

Please do not hesitate to contact info@kingstonintervalhouse.com if you have any questions or would like more information regarding your donation.

The Danielle Duchesneau Fund has been made available through Kingston Interval House for women who have been or are victims of violence. Priority is given to women needing funds for safety issues or to pursue legal resources that are not available from other sources.

Danielle Duchesneau was a young woman killed by her ex-boyfriend in Kingston. With the support of Danielle’s parents, the fund was established in Danielle’s memory to help women who are victims of violence.

A woman may apply for up to $300.00 for such things as service of court documents, limited legal consultation (after using the free 2-hour legal form), or to have locks changed.

To donate click here and select the Danielle Duchesneau Fund in the drop down menu.

A gift of securities or mutual funds is the most efficient way to give. Since the charitable gains taxes do not apply when making a donation, you can give more and get more.

It is simple and easy.

  1. Fill out the online Canada Helps securities donation form and select Kingston Interval House (KIH) as the recipient of the proceeds. This must be done by December 17th to ensure a tax receipt by year end. Upon completion, you will receive an email confirming all the details of your pledge.
  2. Complete the provided Letter of Direction form and send it to your financial advisor or investment firm. This authorizes the transfer of shares to CanadaHelps.
  3. Once shares are sold, Canada Helps will send you a confirmation email with your charitable tax receipt and disburse the proceeds to Kingston Interval House (KIH).
